Utterly backwards attitude. Ingredients should be proven <i>safe</i>, not have government agencies play whack-a-mole figuring out what is harmful, while the food industry synthesizes new substances they will tout as having no research saying they are harmful.<p>That&#x27;s how it works in Europe.

This posting title is misleading and needs to be edited. The actual title is &quot;RFK Jr. wants artificial dyes out of America’s food, but it’s not clear they’re harmful, scientist says&quot;.<p>It isn&#x27;t cool to make things into clickbait on HN.

The standard for whether a human child can consume a food should be proof that something is <i>harmless</i> rather than accepting corporations at their word and only banning if something is proved to be <i>harmful</i>
