If you like this, you're going to love Polydnaviriformidae, the family of host-behavior and -immune-system manipulating viruses that's mutualistic with a couple of families of wasps - who vertically inherit the entire viral genome mother to daughter, along with that of a unique glandular bioreplicator - and, unless there's a somewhat new result in viral phylogenetics, not very closely related to anything else known in nature.

Nothing to see here, just a real-life Xenomorph from the Aliens franchise. Absolutely not scary or anything.

Whew, there’s much more in the article than what the title suggests, if you’re thinking “meh, wasps are known to be parastic”.
