EU slams the door on US in defense plan

I would think that before long, the UK will be re-admitted as well as the German aim of permitting near-neighbour economies (schengen zone? nordic countries?) into the room. France doesn't want that right now, but if you think about it, the materiel industry is pretty trans-national and the UK has a lot of it in Ferranti, Marconi, GEC, BAE. Everyone does JV back to before Brexit, they didn't just fly apart because Nigel Farage got a win.

It sux, but the idea that Americans would NOT actively sabotage on whim is a sci fi now. It is basically certain America will try to harm Europe when it can. There is no meaningful internal opposition to hard conservative side which is intent on destroying democracy itself too, so there is not much hope it will change in next 10-15 years.
