International students get email asking them to self deport

Why would a recipient of such an email, assuming it even makes it by their spam filters, assume it to be real?<p>In particular, wording like this just seems like spammer nonsense: &quot;must depart the U.S. immediately... there is no grace period ...We advise you to depart the US as soon as possible&quot;<p>Whether or not this is one real--it certainly looks fake to me--I predict an imminent flood of &quot;self deport&quot; flavored spams.

How is ICE monitoring social media? Are these students posting publicly using their real names, or are social media companies providing the identity of users ? If so, Is this being done under subpoena, or are they just handing over data?

Even smaller tech companies should now copy big tech and make sure they have established a location in a favorable country to relocate green card or H1B holders as needed.
