The trouble with all these schemas is that to be useful the wider world has to be informed of them, ipso facto Microsoft automatically becomes informed hence their shelf life is always going to be limited.<p>I wish some bright spark would find a way of simply eradicating the code or subsystem that contols that, or patch it so it is effectively neutered.<p>Sure, if its eradicated then a new account creation system would have to be installed, so patching it would likely be the best option.<p>OS protection could be bypassed by booting from say a Linux disk. That's how I now rip out much of what I don't want and it's turned out to be reasonably successful.
