odometers must be interesting from a lawyer or bean counter perspective.<p>re warranties, depends on a value reported by equipment under warranty; there's really no other way to do it, though, unless gps reporting to 3rd party becomes primary value.<p>re all other (and my personal experience buying equipment out of warranty), the odometer always provides an interesting starting point - a first-pass filter to limit the pool of options that are then scrutinized in more detail.
