> data and AI have become fundamental building blocks with which we create the digital tools we all use everyday.
FWIW, I moved to LibreWolf because ...
> How do we build AI into the browser in a way that balances privacy, trust and choice? ... ads in Firefox and an industry platform that enables advertisers to show relevant ads while keeping user data completely private. If we can succeed here, we can not only supplement our search revenue, but also have a chance to reshape how digital advertising works.
I don't think that's possible at all. My choice is to not use AI[1], and I don't want to participate in enabling advertisers - I'll accept contextual advertising, but that's my line.
LibreWolf for me acts as a curation system to keep the AI features in Firefox firmly turned to "off" because I no longer trust Firefox to respect my choice.
And, if Mozilla fails, then what? If the acid of surveillance capitalism seeps into every mainstream browser developer, then I guess ... I'll switch to Konqueror?
When will other governments realize they have no way to put information online to their citizens without ad surveillance by American companies, when will they realize it's a problem, and how will they fix it?
[1] "AI" is such as useless term which encompasses such as range of topics. I trust you will know what I mean by "AI" in this context without me going into details.
