The regularly scheduled 10LINEBASIC competition has concluded for this year - in which, participants are encouraged to write the coolest games and utilities in just 10 LINES OF BASIC CODE!<p>This year we have some fantastic new leaps in imaginative, creative and just downright cool games to play with .. from a re-imagining of the PacMan and Space Invaders gameplay mechanics, to a full Real Time Strategy game, a couple of neat (and even multiplayer) Battleship implementations, and some downright cool arcade-like games that, in only 10 lines of BASIC, put the modern bloated era of computing to shame!<p>If you like programming, and know a bit about BASIC, and have a bit of a fondness for the retro-computing era (as many of us do here on HN), you’re in for a real treat this year!<p>The zen-like state of implementing a fully playable game in just 10 lines of code might even inspire you to come up with your own ideas for next years competition - which would be wonderful .. as an observer of this great social activity for a few years now, I can only say that the competition is getting better and better .. so be sure to tune in, type a few in, and be ready to be amazed at just how rich and powerful this ancient language can be, in the right hands and on the right machines ..
