<i>YOU</i><p>We are looking for a Data Scientist to help build our core analytics product: someone who has experience with problem solving challenges, predictive analytics, and writing code. You want to have an impact both within a small team developers and designers, as well as across the global spectrum of online retail. You are eager to discover ways to help a variety of businesses grow and shape better communications with millions of customers. We are a small team, so you need to be comfortable doing model development, prototyping and putting code into production, as well as able to help in ad hoc analysis.<p><i>US</i><p>Custora is a SaaS tool for online retailers to better understand and market to their customers. We use generative models that are able to both predict customer behavior, and have meaningful explanations to convey to our clients. We have built models to accurately predict how much a customer will spend, what products he will buy and how long he will stay engaged with the firm. We are looking to improve these models and build new models to predict other aspects of the customer lifecycle, to provide more actionable insights to our clients. Our offices are in Manhattan, New York.<p><i>Day to Day Responsibilities</i><p>Understand the challenges that marketers face
* Find relevant models in marketing literature and adapt them to our use
* Develop new models where there are no relevant models
* Code models, create performance metrics and evaluate model performance
* Work with software engineers to put the models into our web application<p><i>Qualifications</i><p><pre><code> * Experience with SQL
* Experience in R/Matlab or other statistical programming environment
* Experience with Ruby, Python, Perl or other scripting language
* Experience developing code and putting into a production environment
* Degree in Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Economics or other quantitative field
* Experience with statistical modeling or regression.
