Poll: Freelancers - How do you collect your payments?

I'm curious what software (if any) you use to collect your freelancing payments. Do you invoice weekly? Monthly? Do you get paid half up front and half when the project is finished? What invoicing software do you use?<p>Do you usually get paid via check or wire transfer?
