About us: Our website (http://www.makegameswith.us) teaches people (primarily high school and college students) how to build iPhone games. The site contains project based tutorials which culminate in building a clone of Angry Birds. After completing the tutorials, developers get started making their own original game. If developers want to publish their game with us, we skin their game with professional art, provide an SDK to automate development of features that have to touch a server, like asynchronous multiplayer and global high scores, and finally publish and promote their game for a share of the revenue. You can check out our first 10 games at (http://mgw.us).
About the job: We're looking for someone with iOS experience who really understands mobile games. We want you to think strategically about what the games in our catalog need, for example better tutorials, monetization, retention strategies, etc... You'll then help our developers improve these things, at first by doing them yourself, and then eventually by building tools and tutorials to make it easier for future developers to get these things right. You'll be writing plenty of original stuff, but you'll also be sifting through a lot of other people's code to fix things up and add new features where it matters. You'll have your hands in dozens of iOS games at once! This should be exciting to you.
About you: You are a quick learner, you're passionate about what you do, and you're hopefully passionate about what we do :) You'll need to have built iOS games/apps in the past, and if you have experience with Cocos2D that's a big bonus. We're currently a team of 5 who live and work out of a 4500 sqft house in Palo Alto, it would be awesome if you're willing to move in with us, although living elsewhere in the Bay Area works too.
Interested?
