How should I interpret the wording of this Facebook privacy feature?

&quot;People on Facebook who can see your info can bring it with them when they use apps. This makes their experience better and more social. Use the settings below to CONTROL the categories of information that people can bring with them when they use apps, games, and websites.&quot; - (note, my emphasis on &quot;control&quot;)<p>The above statement is followed by a list of checkboxes that are initially unchecked with categories such as Bio, Birthday, If I&#x27;m online, My videos, etc.<p>&quot;Control&quot;, here, is such an ambiguous term. On a normal site, I would assume that &quot;checking&quot; a box off (which usually equates to a yes&#x2F;confirm action) would mean that you approve of the sharing of that category, but here, I believe it&#x27;s the opposite.<p>If you were to take a quick look at it, you might think &quot;OK, great. Nothing is checked, so nothing is shared.&quot;, but knowing Facebook, pretty sure I have to check everything.
