Here's 7 states with 20+ fortune 500 companies that aren't in Silicon Valley. Very large companies are everywhere and there IT shops are everywhere. I work for a billion dollar company in Ohio that just bought a multi million dollar piece of software. No where in the multiple pages of evaluation criteria did location of the source company ever come up. I can't at all see how enterprise software needs to be in CA.
